This year’s harvest was completed with normal temperatures, so the weather conditions allowed, in general, a good development of the vines.
Ripening was favoured by the absence of rainfall since the beginning of September and the diurnal temperature swing was high, as normal for this area, favouring a calm maturation despite some periods with heatwaves. The grapes arrived with an ideal ripeness and a perfect state of health for its vinification.

Grape Varieties:
Tempranillo 95% and Merlot 5%.
Terroir: The grapes come from selected “majuelos”; vineyards with Tempranillo grape with 40+ year old vines from Hontangas, San Juan del Monte and Quintana del Pidio, and Merlot grapes +20 year old vine from Valdepalacios. All vineyards are located at an altitude between 825-850 m and planted, where pebbles and calcareous soil predominate.
Maturation:
Aged for 12 months in French (75%) and American (25%) oak barrels, new, and second and third year.
Appearance:
Its bright and deep ruby colour stands out.
You will find intense and well defined fruit aromas of black fruit, like plum, cherry and blueberry, well integrated with subtle notes of oak, like vanilla and coconut, toasted bread and spices like liquorice and cinnamon.
On the palate:
The wine is full bodied and well balanced with smooth tannins and fresh acidity. The persistent aftertaste leaves a blend of sweet fruit, spice and oak, where some chocolate and coffee notes appear at the end. It is a persistent and fresh wine.
