About us

Wines that show the history of an amazing land

DOP Ribera del Duero
Quintanilla de Arriba (Valladolid)

Bodegas el Hacedor, that’s the result of a passion project, really. A bunch of us wine pros, who’ve been knee-deep in the industry for 25 years, finally decided to make it happen. ‘El Hacedor’ literally means ‘The Maker,’ and that’s exactly what we’re about. We’re doers, creators. We’re all about making things, and making them right, for the long haul.

The origin

Our vineyards are spread throughout the Ribera del Duero DOP, allowing us to take advantage of the richness, diversity and different evolution of our vines.

The origin of our grapes is what gives BODEGAS EL HACEDOR wines their personality and foundation.
Our vineyards are distributed along the almost 100km of the DOP Ribera del Duero, allowing us to take advantage of the richness, diversity and different evolution of our vines, located between 860 and 960 m. of altitude with different ages, orientation, location and/or climate.

Our grapes

We have Tempranillo grapes from century-old vineyards, adult and adolescent vines on trellises, Merlot grapes from adult vines with different climates and adolescent vines to produce our Tempranillo with organic certification.

Our winegrowers are young, professional winegrowers with a family tradition spanning several generations who carry out the necessary work in the vineyards with care and their own resources, under the supervision of our winemaker, to carefully monitor the development of the vineyard and thus ensure that we have the best fruit in the best condition when it is time to harvest.

Our wineries

Winery

The winery in Quintanilla de Arriba represents a step forward in our constant improvement in the production of excellent wines.

Designed with an innovative approach, our facilities combine efficiency and sustainability, minimizing environmental impact without compromising quality.

Every detail has been thought out to guarantee an optimal environment where tradition and avant-garde come together, giving life to unique wines, full of character and expressiveness.

The new Winery for Production and Ageing is located in the centre of the so-called “Golden Mile” of the Ribera del Duero.

Built using the latest technology, it allows us to improve our production capacity and, above all, to age and mature the wines in optimal conditions in innovative, efficient and sustainable facilities.

About us

El Hacedor Winery is the culmination of a project created by a group of professionals in love with the world of wine, in which they have been active operators, in one way or another, for the last 25 years.

Thanks to this team of experts, our winery continues to grow, bringing the tradition, innovation and excellence of our wines to the most demanding palates in the world.

Carlos de la Serna, as CEO, leads the team with vision and commitment, promoting innovation and the development of the company without losing sight of the essence of our winemaking tradition. Chema Velasco, an expert oenologist trained at Mauro and San Román, with the García family, transforms each harvest into wines that reflect the uniqueness of the “terroir”, achieving a perfect balance between all the elements and factors that intervene in the creation of each wine.

Our sales department is led by internationally renowned sommeliers who provide support and assistance to clients, winelovers and partners to optimize their experience with each wine from Bodegas El Hacedor.
Anna K. Grandqvist, as Export Manager, manages the EMEA, North America and Asia-Pacific markets, while Iván Misael Galván is our delegate for Mexico and LatAm. Julio Montejano manages the market in Spain and Portugal.

Our wines

We create soft wines with character, where the wood is subtly integrated to enhance the purity and freshness of the fruit. Their balance on the palate, round and without edges, allows them to evolve magnificently in the bottle, developing complexity and elegance over time.
